Crafters Companion Gemini Create-a-Card Dies - PATCHWORK

Oops I meant to publish this post a while back, and completely forgot!
I liked this challenge as I love everything 'patchwork', so you will see some contemporary designs and some traditional ones as well.

As usual, materials used are in a different colour.

First up is a wedding card, using my all time favourite colour combination..

Gemini Create a Card Dies - Heart Patchwork
Sara Signature Together Forever Collection Metal Die - Mr and Mrs
Die’Sire Essentials Only word Congratulations

Papers from Crafters Companion Download of the month December 2017

The inside was decorated using a diesire word die

The sample below is using patchwork dies to cut shapes and stencil with inks (used dotty card):

Gemini Create a Card Dies - Dragonfly Patchwork
Papers from Crafters Companion Download of the month April 2017
Distress inks Weathered Wood and Victorian Velvet
Textures 8x8 Hessian Embossing Folder
Partial embossing technique

the feminine card bellow is made with a pretty lilac and olive colour scheme, using the dies to make a window panel and cutting the roses twice in two types of card to make layered flowers.

Sentiment Stamp from Jayne Nestorenko Adorables’ Stamp/Die set - Secret Garden

Next up is a masculine card made with papers, inking, matt and shiny centura card and cut outs on the smaller of the two square panels.

Sentiment Stamp  from Jayne Nestorenko Adorables’ Stamp/Die set – Birthday Boy
Papers from Crafters Companion Download of the Month March 18 Spring Floral

Okay to I had an idea not to adhere the whole printed smaller panel onto the black, which means I cut away into the wooden printed papers to reveal the black underneath, debossed in a way - i didn't know if it would work but it did... if you try and it cuts through both layers, add a third small layer under where you intend to cut to keep the second layer intact and achieve more of a debossed effect with your die than cutting out a shape all the way through - hope that makes sense..

The next card is a black and bright yellow daisy card and I like the contemporary feel of it :)

lastly, my favourite and one I enjoyed making the most - step by step photos to start with and I included a slightly smaller acetate box for the inside to stabilise the whole box..

I have some more exciting similar dies and designs to share along these lines, so if you liked this post, keep an eye out for the next batch!

Gemini FoilPress post all about the browns

It's been a busy weekend catching up with friends and a trip to the NEC Creative Crafts show, hence I didn't get a chance to post till this evening, and I will share two Foiled cards this evening.

The first could double for a masculine card and / or Christmas, the stag's head is so regal and I love the design.

I used the following products:

Stag Head Foil Stamp Die
Flourishing Swirls 1 Foil Stamp Die
Special Friend Foil Stamp Die - sentiment
Gold Foil
tartan card from Stash (craft creations brand i think)

Lots of photos again so you can see the foiling on this one
The foiling acts as a 'resist' as well I notice, which is hand since after I foiled the stags head I inked with water based distress inks around the perimeter of the circle die cut and it gave a superb effect.

Doesn't that shiny golden foiling look fabulous?!

The foiling even works on textured card (payperbox card I purchased at the Crafters Companion shop in Evesham)

Inside of card decorated and layered with a big banner.

My next card is also along the 'browns' theme, and a card meant for a loved one's birthday.

For this card I used the following supplies:

GEMINI FOIL PRESS  HSN BUNDLE – Heart
Swirling Heart & Corner Foil Stamp and Cut Die,
Elegant Motifs Foil Stamp Die,
Sentiments & Accents Foil Stamp Die
Gold Foil

Gold foiling on ivory ribbon is so elegant, timeless almost.

Love the way the sun catches the foiling.

And the inside of the card - I put the two word sentiments together to make the message 'Happy Birthday, Beautiful'. Great to give to your loved one :)

That's all for this evening, I have a couple more to show and I am working on some others at the moment.  Cant get enough of all the shiny stuff LOL, the best thing since glitter 😄

Inkadinkado Bird Feeder Card

Hello everyone, hope this post finds you all well. Popping in with something a little different, suitable for lots of occasions and for lots of ages, masculine or feminine.

I bought this stamp in an EK success web sale last Christmas and only got to use it now. when I tried to add a link I got a lot of conflicting information on google searches, so if you want to source the stamp, its either of these numbers... I think!  Stamp #860491 or #60-00499... you will recognise it when you see it and it is available on eBay. I will make a spring like bright and summery card with it next year too, I am sure, maybe using Grey Flannel memento ink instead of the Espresso truffle I used here.

So that embossing folder is one of the first cuttlebug folders I ever bought, along with my cuttlebug machine (my first ever die cutting and embossing machine!) and had used the folder seldom, but it was perfect for this project. the blue strip has an old cuttlebug folder as well.

The tag die was from Go Kreate and is just so like a parcel tag shape, I love the inked stenciled effect on this one. Hope you liked this card, and will be back soon. I have developed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome so my crafting is a little limited at the moment, but I will pop in now and again :) New wrist splints ordered to help things a little.

MR Designs inspired Nautical card

LOVED loved loved making this one, and it came together really well and to plan - once I had the idea it couldn't be done quick enough - much fun was had lol!!!

Yep, those are real shells and seed things...
the gorgeous papers can be purchased from M R Designs' Michele Roos HERE.

and the inside of the card.... - the centre of the paper was faded out using simple graphic software to highlight the verse before being printed, distressed and inked like the front cover.
