Workshop cards

Some photos of workshop cards. So its like feast or famine, sorry about that!  Nothing on the blog for ages and then loads of things to show today.  Hope my blog readers don't mind!?
And apologies for the typing error on the twin baby card post which some of you spotted -eek!

The first is am embossed Butterlfy cards using Sizzix corners and lattice embossing folder and a Kaiserkraft butterfly from polymer stamp set called Bonjour.

Used two different spellbinder label shapes for this project, and layered the triple embossed butterfly, finished with Bronze and blue Pearls from Cottage Crafts

The next card is created with a vintage, distressed theme in mind and a bit of a challenge when Marion Kilbride from Crafty Bride craft Shop and Wedding Studio asked me to do something with the camera die - that was a brain teaser!  Sometimes the challenge work out really well so pleased with with the result!

The papers are a new Steampunk Range from Bearly Mine designs which you can find here. I have only used one sheet from one of the packs and can see me using more, the faux textures and shades are fabulous and I really like Donna's style of digi paper.

The car image is from Stamps Away and is called Pilkington Transport 4.

The next card is using a firm favourite from Stampin Up called Dasher - there are similar images from other stamp companies using  reindeer so keep a look out if you don't want to wait around for Stampin up from eBay or other sites.

the Snowflakes are old Spellbinders Create a Flake 1 or 2,  I cant remember but again there are lots of snowflake dies on the market, so easy to find gorgeous designs, Papermania embossing folder and vintage signage stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms which I cant find any longer, sadly. Doesn't it bug you when you cant find things or they are discontinued - unfortunately this happens when craft companies have to bring out new ranges or move with the times :(

The next card is suitable for anniversary, engagement or similar love theme and is a really funky image from Stampin Bella called Emily and Ryan under the Umbrella. (later this month I will post the wedding card we will make with the Brett and Brenda get married stamp - keep a look out for that one ;)...

For this card, the umbrella was stamped onto dotty paper and layered after a little paper shaping to give it some texture and spellbinders hearts added for a little romantic touch!

OK so I really love the Marianne dies which are getting better with every new release and the Anja designs are so pretty when embossed.

Also used a hougie board to make our own embossed diagonal design and finished off with a rose image called Hearts and Roses pre coloured digi set from Fred She Said.

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

The last project to show you is a show card made using a Toe Tapper Elegant Slipper template

this was finished with a marabou feather and diamante buckle and an EK success punched border in a trellis design. The outer blue label die cut is made with a die from Spellbinders.

April Workshop

Hi everyone, hope you are having a relaxing Sunday or doing your favourite thing today, wherever you are! Just posting the cards made in my April workshops, great to see everyone again and have loads of laughs and share any new crafting news and products too!

So the first card is a no-colouring, lots of punched-and-die-cut-shapes card, where we used daubers and templates to ink our own sky background.

 The next card is a coloured image one which is good for a get well soon or cheery spring card or for anyone feeling under the weather - the products used on this one were:

To decorate the box, we used a Marianne's key die, LR0193 which was embossed in silver mirri card, and the same colour ribbon used to finish.

A very handy hint is to use promarkers / peel off markers / alcohol based pens to colour your clear gems and  turn them into other colours - the same can be done with white pearls. I used a dark purple coloured promarker to colour mine.

The next card was a 'simply stamped' one, so for those who had never inked and used  stamp before, this was a good introduction of how easy and effective stamping can be!

the flower punch I used was tiny and an old EK success one which I think is now discontinued sadly, but you can find this shape flower in the Spellbinders'/Heartfelt Creations POSY PATCH die set (this set contains an amazing 7 dies all nesting to create amazing flowers you can make yourself with the aid of glue and ball / embossing tools to add shape). I guess that the dies will last longer than any punch will and I have used my set lots already.

The sentiment and branch / flower stamp set are from Stampin Up and are called Hopeful Thoughts, and if you want them, they may be a retired set soon enough so here is a link to the product which you may be able to find on eBay as a second hand /used set.

The last card for this month was a twisted fold card using images from Fred She Said, called Smelling the Cherry Blossoms - 
These digi's come in precoloured or black and white if you wish to colour yourself, with extra blossoms. The added advantage with digi's is that you can resize to suite your own project! the little girl is also available in the digi set without the background.

Lenten Roses - Fred She Said & Bearly Mine Digi's

Sharing a card which is going a long way to someone special, my Gran. I hope it gives her pleasure, as she is a green fingered lady who loves gardening and lots and lots of flowers; am sure she lost count of the number of flower arrangements and flowers picked over the years!

  

I used Bearly Mine and Fred She said digital papers and images, the hellebores (roses) were layered and lend themselves to decoupage. 

You can purchase the papers from Bearly Mine and the Roses from Fred She Said, the roses available in pre coloured digi's or black and white should you wish to colour your own.

This is the inside of the card - the papers are pale enough that you can write inside, and below you can see the luxurious pearlescent card used in the layering and for the leaves, cut with a Cheery Lynn Mega Fanciful Flourish Die

Can't remember where I got the ribbon from, it's been in my stash for ages and is wired on each edge, the scallops go so well with the Spellbinder dies.

April cards

Hello bloggers, have a few cards to share today from a crop - thanks to everyone who came along and for a fantastic day!

Here are some cards, and they all follow a feminine theme for different ages.

Please note that digi images and papers should not be shared without permission from the digi site / artist, and I have permission from Donna from Bearly Mine and Tracey from Fred She Said to use their wonderful work for these cards.

the first is a baby girl card coloured with polychromos pencils and embellished with punched flowers, die cut shapes and leaves and using a Stamp by Elizabeth Bell from Belles and Whistles

used a mixture of card candy and pearls on this one for the flowers so they are nice and fresh and dainty / girly!

This next card has one of the precious hAnglra and StAnglar stamps I own (they are like gold dust!) and is made with cheery papers from Bearly Mine called Spring Blossoms which you can find here.

the sentiment is computer generated and I used the Tim Holtz weathered clock sizzix die for the background with matching strips of embossed card using Country Companions and cuttlebug folders.

the border is punched with a Martha Stewart border punch

and some card candy and EK success daisies to finish - also coloured with polychromos pencils

I love blue and white cards and this is another of those in a side stepper shape made with a Whiff of Joy /  Elizabeth Bell stamp and the sentiment is just perfect for this.

the next card is a 'bookmark on a card' but it isn't obvious when you first look at it - I like ideas like this and they make perfect cards / gifts in one!

Tina Wenke creates the most adorable images and hedgehogs are one of my favourite things so I couldn't wait to use this and teamed it with a quote I like being that I love buying books as well...

those punched daisies disguise punch outs on the card blank itself and are adhered to the punch outs which hold the book mark in place, and you can see how it detaches below:

the next card is a decoupage one in a favourite green and lilac colour scheme using digi images from Fred She Said which you can find here.

the inside is decorated to match the outside and the card is embossed with a border embossing folder and I used the same butterfly punch as I did on the blue card but instead of cutting on white and inking like the last one I cut out of lilac card and added gems to this one

the last in this post is a shaped easel card using Go Kreate dies, and with stamped and distressed papers  to create a vintage feel.

Again the image is coloured with polychromos pencils

bright cerise ribbon and stencilling inside the dies..
