July cards

As promised, back with a few more projects to share from last couple of weeks.

The first one is a flip flop / sandal card for which I drew my own template (took a few attempts to get it right LOL as the toe tapper template shape wasn't right for the shoe i wanted to make).
To keep it fresh, young and fashionable as well as bold, I used black, white and cerise colours, and Laura Ashley stamps to give it some style, without being too vintagey, if that makes sense!

The stitching on the shoe is faux stitching - a pokey tool and thin black felt tip marker used for that.

The punch is from Martha Stewart

... and finally a view of the finished card.

the gorgeous hot pink pearls can be obtained from www.cottagecrafts.ie - they aren't up on the website yet but if you email the shop, they can get back to you.

The next card is equally girly one in the form of the Thistledown fairy from Lili of the Valley and using papers from Bearly Mine Designs pack called Floral Fantasy available here.
The delicate larger leaf dies are from Memory Box and the smaller one of the sentiment is from a punch which has no name!
The card was coloured with twinkling H2O's

The following card is a Christening one - am long overdue some new Christening designs and this time challenged myself to stay away from pink or blue! So these are all muted earthy tones, which go well with the church window in the image - another one from Lili of the Valley which you can find here

 And some close up photos:

That gorgeous neutral colour used along with the window die to create the stenciling is called Pumice Stone from Tim Holtz Distress Inks range.
the card was coloured with pro markers.

While we are on the subject of distressing, the card below has lots of it - distressed paper edges and inked distressing, and the bunting and string to add to the summer feel - decided to colour the image with pencil strokes and nothing too 'blended' adds to the rustic carefree feel of this one - if you click on the picture you might see the texture on the shells created with inks and dots.

and a view from the top edge so you can see the bunting - the letters were added by using the craftwork cards candi alphabet stamps - soooo handy these little stamps, but easy to lose as they are so tiny.
this stamp is a Faye Whittaker / Joanne Sheen one called Washroom Teddy

***

the last card share is a purely floral Lilac and white one,one of my favourite floral colour combinations, and you will have seen on the blog before. This time I used the nestability die to stencil again, as the image is much larger than this and so its a snippet of the stamp and a fabulous technique - I used it on the fairy above too!
this one was coloured with these promarker colours and a blender -
Lilac, Lavender, Amethyst and Purple
Meadow Green Flex marker, Apple Green, Forest

a luxurious 'chocolate box' bow to finish!

LOTV Baby Boy card

OK this is my second post for today - found some cards I had not posted and did weeks ago, oops!

This card is a baby boy one using one of my Lili of the Valley Stamps which you can find HERE, and I have coloured this one with pro markers / flexmarkers,
and those little duck buttons are so cute I love using them..

Very simple layout, as am always covering nearly the whole front of a card blank whenever I make a card and this time I made a conscious choice NOT to, so the nice hammered white shows quite a bit!
The sentiment stamp is also from LOTV and you can find them here - a very versatile set that includes anniversary and other general greetings we use on everyday cards.

Will pop back tomorrow with some more.

and some other photos of the detail:

The inside of the card, suitable for a sentiment / personalised message:

Lili of the Valley Boys card

Swingin' on by to say hello and share a Lili of the Valley card with you using Hanging Around by Lili of the Valley stamps which you can find here.

hope you all have a fantastic Sunday and here are a couple of close up images:

the sentiment and ticket stamps are also from Lili of the Valley, and are very versatile because the sentiments are separate and the ticket image blank so you can add whatever sentiment you like to the ticket shape which is a clear stamp too - easy to see where you are stamping.

here are images to the ticket stamps and if click on them, they will direct you to the Lili of the Valley product.

Craftwork Cards Warren stamps

OK so I am a sucker for cute bunnies and this one has to be the cutest around. ... also guilty for not inking any of the Craftwork Cards' Warren stamps I got months ago, I decided to remedy that and this was a quick card.

So the next time I try and spend hours making a card, I will try a quick one, as I like the way this one turned out - simple enough, but couldn't get away from layering again LOL.

This one was coloured with pencils and again I loved the texture so didn't end up blending with sansador and another bonus is that the pencils are super quick, fab results in no time at all!

Second Book Card, Paperartsy style

yay its Friday, I know the sun isn't shining but it means a lie in tomorrow and maybe a cuppa in bed if I am lucky! Popping in quickly to share a card made a few weeks ago (still on catch up with posting LOL).

I loved the Tina Wenke book card so much I decided to make another but loved the idea of combining it with a 'recessed aperture card' made into a book card and haven't seen this combination anywhere else, so thought well why wouldn't it work??

Here is the aperture centre, decorated with the same papers as the front and back.

and another view showing the left hand side inner cover with a tag ready for a message

Here is the view of the 'book' shape, those spellbinders fancy tags are just THE best addition to the spine of the book, oh I love those dies!!

and finally from the front:

The aperture inside is deep enough to hold a folded tie, maybe a pen set or other small gift or for a guy as a bedside coin box... uses are endless for this and its a 5'' x 7'' size which is just about right - oh and the round things are the new card candi from Craftwork cards.

Tina Wenke Baby card - all pink

Well I found a new technique I love and that's using white Gouache or acrylic paint on the edges of things - I think its cos I saw it on Di's cards and fell in love with it a while back and although its quite textured, it does soften stronger colours and hard edges, in a distressed kind of way.

...and I have used one of my all time fave baby stamps AGAIN! I love love love this image Tina! A lot of people have asked me lately and its a Tina Wenke Stamp called Sent from Above

and a closeup of the flowers above and coloured the image with twinkling H2O's

Bearly Mine DT Challenge Ribbons & Bows Wedding Card

Hope this schedules on time as don't normally use the scheduler on blogger, so if you see the post on Tuesday it has worked!

This weeks challenge at Bearly Mine Challenges is Ribbons and Bows and I am still working through all the gorgeous papers in Floral Breeze - click here to see what you get in this paper pack, I love them all!

hope you can see the layers in these photos - the Cheery Lynn Leaf Die has been intertwined through their trellis die - great for subtle backgrounds, might be tempted to get the fancy trellis one, one of these days!

Hope you can join in the challenge this week as sure lots of us use bows and ribbon in our projects all the time, where would we be without it?

Di's Digi Summertime Challenge

This week the Di's Digi Challenge is running for one week just this week, so get your Summertime entries in asap if you want to play along/

for this card I used Izzy's Flower Wagon from Di's Digi Downloads and Patchwork Party papers from Bearly Mine

the fence die is from Cheery Lynn

and LOADS of little flowers!

a side on view  and colouring was with pencils but I didn't blend with sansador because I wanted the stokes left and it to be a little rustic..
