Pink Gem designs Unicorn Card

Afternoon everyone, just popping in to show something a little different. I owe my creative pursuits to a special person, and this lady I met in my teens while doing high school art classes. One of my highest scoring subjects, I loved all the time I spent learning the History of Art theory and the practical drawing and painting sessions.

So when Mrs Eleen Joubert asked me to make a birthday card for her Grandaughter, I was extremely honoured to be asked by such a talented lady!

For a little girl who loves unicorns and pink, a boxed card..

Okay so this was one of the first few sample briefs I had and got the most excited about (I know that sounds silly but when you receive three sample briefs at once and one contains little favour boxes... well I was in my element and couldn't wait to start!)

Last but not least is a Christmas cracker - I couldn't let this challenge for new boxes go by without something Christmassy, especially since I picked up that cute gingerbread person in Evesham CC store a few weeks ago - such a cheery character!

Sentimentals Rubber stamps Vintage Christmas

.. top tip is to ink the edges of the die cut shape to give it form and so it doesn't look 'flat'

This card was made by making my own little scroll and hat out of cut and formed leather card, some red ribbon, and some distress and metallic ink and a little tassel from a sewing shop - amazing what you can make when you put your mind to it huh?

Glue gun pearl drops coloured with alcohol ink

So this card was also a delight to make, a bit shabby or grungy and lots of inking, distressing and scrunching going on.. the copper pearls are actually waste glue gun droplets coloured with copper alcohol ink - an 'authentic' aged look..

My last card share is a pretty clean design and one of those clean and simple cards which is useful for lots of occasions and for men as well - substitute pearls with enamel dots or sequins or stars?
