Communion Cards - Di's Digi, Karen's Doodles and Mo Manning images

hi everyone, hope you have all had relaxing Sunday's and if you're lucky enough to have a bank holiday tomorrow too, enjoy and make the most of it! Sharing a few First Holy Communion cards which I did a couple of months ago and just didn't get around to sorting the photos and posting on the blog.

All of the images are available in digital format - the first is from Karen's Doodles and you can find it HERE.

here is a view of the inside..

The next image is from Mo Manning, which you can find HERE. The crosses are old spellbinders dies.

Last but not least is this image from Di's Digi Downloads which you can find HERE.

All of the images are coloured with Faber Castell Polychromos pencil crayons.

Summer isn't summer without Pinwheels!

So it felt like childhood when I saw a pinwheel the other day and thought wow I haven't made one for years and years!

This pinwheel is constructed so it can turn. It is also made with a plastic straw and slotted behind the image topper, so it's a novelty item that can be removed as well - neat or what?!

Here is a closeup image of the pinwheel  and the dimension / layers on the card:

Here is a good view of the colouring - I am in a polychromos pencil crayon phase at the moment!

The papers are from Craft Creations' blue meadow stripe
and the cloud shapes are these memory box dies:

New A4 die cutting machine? Jus-Cutz

Updated - there are now some fantastic videos on You Tube which demo this machine - have a look
I stumbled upon this news earlier this year when looking for die cutting plates in A4 size which are clear, and found just what I need on the Once Upon a Stamp Website.

Update 08/08/2013 - my machine arrived, went for the vintage colour and I absolutely love it. I see there are lots more videos to help new users posted on you tube in the last few days, so make sure to take a peek. First observations is the machine is good and heavy and strong and the plastic casing is not flimsy and nor is the handle and only two plates woohoo. the thickness of the clear cutting plate is decent thickness so I guess it shouldnt warp as quickly as other brands' cutting plates will.. Will post any updates as and when I have them.
This machine will make my partial embossing technique so much easier :) and I will be able to position and partially emboss smaller folders on larger sheets of card much easier too.

Meljen's Designs Monkey Circle Easel card

Cute little fella isn't he? This little guy makes me smile and is just fantastic as a precoloured or B&W digi for any small child's card!

The banana's don't come with a digi, that's just a clipart image resized and layered and here is the card standing as an easel:

Supplies used:
Spellbinders grand circle / grand scalloped circle dies,
Spellbinder scalloped rectangles
word art circular text - font is Curlz
Nylon stripe Ribbon
number dies from Quickutz called Haunted mini alphabet
Meljen's Digi image called Monkey Toes - precoloured

This is how the card looks folded and closed.

The inside has loads of space for writing a message...

Cupcake / Gift Gable Box with Strawberry Ribbon

So where did the sunshine go? Seriously though the garden was a little parched so we needed some rain, and the fresh smell after a shower is invigorating.
Am sure the sun will make an appearance again, and the vegetable garden is looking good again.

Onto my next project share, a gable box which was made from two 12 x12 sheets, enabling me to make flaps for sides and bottom from both sheets and the result was a good size box - it measured 6 and 1/2 by 4 inches when finished - good for two cupcakes.

these are the supplies I used
Craft Ribbons Strawberry Shortcake Ribbon - yum (if you live in Ireland and want to order the ribbon, just email Crafty Ribbons so they can calculate postage before shipping goods, as the checkout on the shop adds way more than it should, and they kindly told me to email them when ordering)
Spellbinders label dies  28 - the pink shape behind the sentiment
Spellbinders grand ovals /grand ovals
Craft Creations stripe paper
EK success retro flower or Spellbinders/Heartfelt Creations posy patch dies
an old quickutz strawberry die
not sure about the brand of the punch used for the centre of the flower but it was blue with a white round punch thing (not a lever) - maybe someone can help me out there!

Some more photos of the box..

... and here is the centre 'holder' so the cakes don't move around and make marks on the walls of the box.

Hope you like the look of the box, which has so many options in terms of decoration - I will be making a Christmas themed box with no window, just perfect for small gifts.
