Just to say a quick hello and share my latest entry into Card Making and Papercraft issue 68 August09 - I didn't even know about it, as I missed out on buying the magazine (okay I have subscribed now because I realised it will save me, even with the higher price of subscription to Europe). anyhoo.... I am delighted, especially since this was a family card too!

Magnolia Tilda with Clover Stamp
Here's one I have made today ... havent got very far with what I need to do, but this was my third attempt with colouirng because I wasnt happy with the colouring on the first two (there are hundreds of shades of greens!!!!!) but now I am happy..
- I used the Magnolia Tilda Clover Stamp with Saddle Brown Stazon (little softer than using black)
- my all time favourite Twinkling H2O's - Mallard green, Almond Beige, Hunters Gray, Siam White, Hot Cinnamon, Chestnut Brown and Blushing Caramel
- also used my Quicckutz Shamrock Cookie Border Die in my cuttlebug with the adapter plates
- the backing paper is from Joanna Sheen Christmas CD
Here is a closeup on the colouring

Petra's Trust
Just to tell you about a worthy cause and a talented fellow crafter. Here is the think to Petra's Madill's trust.
After intial surgery resulting in deafness from the age of 13, Petra is still in a lot of pain and on daily meds. The spcialists discovered last December that a tumour which they had been keeping an eye on, had begun to grow and needed to be treated.
After investigating various sources of funding and treatments, Petra is looking to undergo a safer option - the relatively new Cyber knife treatment in Munich/Germany, and is working to raise the funds to do this.
Despite all of this, Petra takes the time to share her crafts with us and give us the time to encourage her fellow crafters over on Cara Craft Supplies, and this means a lot to me and indeed a lot of other crafters, so we would all appreciate your help and support.
If you would like to donate to Petra's trust, please send to:

Please give your contact/e-mail details and Barbara will acknowledge your donation and allocate your raffle numbers. the draw will take place on Sept 30th.
more information about the raffles and donations can be found here.

New Sandal Card With Box
I made a sandal card in a box in A5 size before, and wanted to make more, so here is another. I made a simple box myself too and this is a mini one, it is only 5 inches square.. hope you like it. I did some pricking on the straps and embossing (again!)
EDITED with information on how I did this - thanks for your comments Dawn!
1 make a box with standard scoring board
2 make the sandal:
*drawn a sandal sole and cut one smaller than the other, using fancy edge scissord if you wish to make a nice edge
* glue the inner to outer sole (emboss the inner sole if you like)
*cut two strips of card for the straps and insert these together in a small cut near the top half of the shoe (use a pricking tool if you like or emboss the strips before you thread them throught the sole)
* use DS tape and / or glue to secure the straps under the shoew and then to the card which has already been coloured and embossed as below:
3 the embossing / texture
* hammered white card embossed with the floral CB folder.
* used derwnet pencil crayons (use pastels or other pencil or wax crayons if you have them) to add colour to the raised embossed edges
* the technique of holding the coloured pencils I learnt while doing Art / drawing - hold the pencil or crayon parallel to the paper you are working on by using all your fingers down the lenth of the pencil IYKWIM this way you shade the embossed bits using the side of the coloured lead in the pencil and not the tip or normal 45 degree angle you would use to colour or hold a pen
hope this helps

First Christmas Card of 2009.. and couple of other cards
Ok I decided to give in to Christmas cos its my favourite time of the year and I was itching to make a Christmas card. need to sort out the stray embossing powder, so it needs bit of improvement and maybe different layout.. have to think about that and I want to be more organised this year... sorry the gold card doesnt scan very well. and here are couple of other cards.. more puppy dogs in decoupage and also a fabric printed panel mounted onto card and then a frame which i made and embossed added on top.
Scruff again
you might find an older post with a picture of a little dog I made, and here is the second one... the first was in a brown malty colour, this one is cream.. i love making these little toys for babies and kids.. they are just so cute and it keeps me occupied when I want a change from paper crafting..
