Meslyn DT Challenge #9

Well Christmas is certainly on the way by the look of this month's challenge!! Please hop over and take part in this month's Meslyn Challenge which is Glitzy Glittered Christmas, and the bonus is a £10 voucher to spend for the winner - I think that is just a fabulous prize from Carolyn, and there's plenty of time to enter too!!

I cant wait to see what everyone comes up with and here is my DT contribution, a box.

Everything was in the monthly goodie bag with the exception of the ribbon and punch used to make the snowflaked and border, lots and lots and lots of glitter!

Lots of layering, ribbons and punching, and the holly die cuts added to the top make it a really handy gift box for little gifts. If anyone wants a tutorial for the box, let me know and I will make another and post it on the blog, but for now the measurements (before punching the border on the lid) are 5'' square, scored on all 4 sides at 1'' in from the side, thus making the box 3'' square when glued together.
The glitter card is nice and sturdy for this type of project ,and I added the gold snowflakes to fix the ribbon, although the rough texture of the glittered card will hold it in place well.

Here's a closeup, sorry the pics were taken the other evening, so lighting not the best, but I guess everyone gets the general idea..

Di's Digi Downloads DT news

...so I have some exciting news to share - Dianne Carubia has invited me to join her Design Team. I love the images Di creates, andt Di allows us to use them in our workshops. The images are normally available to buy as digi images for $2 which is very reasonable, and some are so popular that they are being converted to stamps, so you can imagine that the images are fabulous!!

You can purchase Di's images here and also see a list of all the digi images on Di's other blog here. Di is also offering candy on the blog so please pop by and have a nosey round - I am sure you will love what you see!!

The punching on this card is a fiskars snow bubble corner border punch - I know I have said this before, but have to say again they are really easy to use - cut your paper in inch increments and punch away, all the way around, or part the way around.
The image is coloured with twinkling H2O's and texture added by using stickles and liquid applique (gooey stuff in a pen type thing which you hear with a heart gun and it puffs up (a must for christmas cards).

another Di's card coming up in next day or so, with a halloween / autumn flavour..
