Paper pieced Peonies from Penny Black

Hi bloggers, have neglected the ol' blog for a while as have been working away doing other things, but have a few bits to post, so here goes the first of a few days' photos for you to have a peek at.

I used an old Penny Black stamp called Peonies which is rubber and wood mounted - absolutely delighted to see what looks like a re - release of the image in the new Penny Black Flower Gallery set which you can find here.

Decorated the box for this one..

and love the Martha Stewart punch around the page set called Wild Flowers.

Some other photos to show you the gorgeous colours from the Twinkling h2O watercolour paints.. and the paper piecing - coloured a few layers and then mounted them so the flower is more dimensional.

Sugar Nellie Funky Kits Wedding card

Just popping in for a quick hello and posting some cards as catching up with the blog now my Christmas projects are underway!

The image used for this card was from sugar Nellie / Funky Kits which you can find here, stamped on cream card and coloured with twinkling H2O's. the embossing is from a cuttlebug folder and the ink is antique linen TH distress ink. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts

The leaf die cuts are from a Magnolia Doo Hickey Die and the box was made for the card with the same cardstock used for the card blank.

Di's Digi Fall Colours + my fave twinkly paints

hello bloggers and fellow crafters, hope you have all been having a good weekend and those Christmas cards are in full swing LOL.
Am sharing a great feminine card, which would be great to send to someone who loves baking, and I have chosen autumnal colours for this one - those limy / green flowers, when the leaves start to turn and the browns and reds, just no orange on this one

Over at Di's Digi Challenge Blog, the theme this week is Fall Colours, and hope you can join in too.
I have used Gonna Bake a Cake image for mine and I just love the luscious choc layer cake and the little girls baking cap!

I have used Cheery Lynn Mega Fanciful Flourish die on this card, cutting the die so I could re position leaves and fronds where I wanted them

...and added some pretty Wild Orchid Craft flowers to which I added ultra fine glitter in an old rose colour pink and limey green colour, using art institute glitter glue to add the glitter as well as adhere the flowers.

...a closeup photos of the roses and cherry blossoms and the stitching onto the Nitwit papers from their Warm Fuzzies collection.
The tan coloured pearls are from Cottage Crafts, and you can find the range here, they are excellent value and each pearl comes off the sheet individuality, no need to cut the long adhesive strings on other brands!

and the inside of the card left blank for that special sentiment.

In case you are wondering about the skin colour, I used promarkers for that (yes you can colour hammered card which isnt usually suitable for promarkers as it can bleed, if you are careful). I used markers from light to dark, in the following order - antique white Flex Marker, almond, satin, march hare and sunkissed pink - delighted with the result!

Hope you like the card blank, which cardstock I also used for layering and the punched border - its kraft card from Craft creations which you can find here and its a great weight, good quality cardstock which I got in 12 x 12 sheets - am going to use more of it!

I am entering this card into some other challenges too:

Sketch 'n Stash - Challenge 100 use one of the catalogue sketches - I used number 82, here is the sketch

Stampin for the Weekend - All stitched up (got my sewing machine out after a long while..woohoo)

Will be back with more cards next week, as have been going through all the photos taken and not posted, so pop back again..

enough about tech hitches - onto my card for Bearly Mine Challenges, and the image I used for this was new Wee Stamps Holly stamp which I coloured in the gorgeous muted greeny blue colours like the ones you can see in the paper in the Spring Mist pack found HERE.

here is a close up photo of the layers:

Also, Donna has some new Halloween papers with the cutest critters over on the Bearly Mine Designs blog, and there's 25% off until tomorrow - go and have a peek!

Lily of The Valley decorated box

Hi everyone, not been posting much as kept occupied with this little project; couldn't wait to make it once I had the idea, it had to be realised!!
Love using LOTV images and love making boxes and non-card paper craft items, so this was perfect for my first Christmas project of 2012.
If you want to see other cards made with LOTV images, click HERE.

here is a better view of the snowman

... and the top of the gift box which can be picked up by the handle / ribbon, as it has been secured underneath, but....

... the ribbon slides through the top snowflake and you can lift of the lid and secure it again without tying any knots or creasing the ribbon!

and this is one of the sides where you can see some more die cut and glittered trees - the box is 3.5 inches square and about 10 inches high.

There is an Anything but a Card Challenge running over at Lili of the Valley's Ideas to Inspire until August 16th, so if you want to enter, here is the link to the Challenge Blog
