Reworked cards, a couple of old favourites

Afternoon everyone, popping in with a really quick post to show some reworked oldies.  I dug out some of my old papercrating kits from workshops, these must be 2 - 3 years old - cant believe that!

Anyway I decided to spruce them up a little and for the first one I inked a little deeper pink on the centre flower, left out (!) the green organza ribbon and added the leaf flourish.
I like looking back and reworking things as it means I am learning, hopefully!......

Today I had some time as all my samples for Crafters Companion are up to date, so I had a stocktake of my memento ink pads (mostly small dew drop ones) and have done up a colour chart to save time when making projects, so if you'd like one, then drop me a comment with your email address (personal information wont be published) and I'll send it to you as word or PDF or both.. I used memento inks to stamp this card and ink with daubers.

Next up is an embossed Lili of the Valley Stamped sentiment decorated with flowers and the Mega Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish Die cut which I inked in various shades of green, and it gives more depth to the card this way. Apart from that I didn't change anything else, other than perhaps slight change to placement of flowers.

Off to sift through loads of photos as I have lost to share in the next couple of weeks.

C is for ...............Christmas

Hi everyone am back with some photos of the card I promised, and it's no secret I love Christmas! I was given these gorgeous Anna Marie Designs papers last year and I love them, great for inking, embossing, glittering etc as very good quality.

This is a scheduled post, so hope it works okay, as I completed the card before I have carpal tunnel surgery..

So onto the products I used (forgive me for not adding the box photo yet as I need to finish decorating that with ribbon when I regain sufficient strength).

12x6 inch box
12x6 inch card blank
Christmas jingle 8'' paper pad (6x6 would work as well)
stamens
ceramic effect white adhesive paint

From stash
Brown card
ivory satin ribbon
bakers twine
red paper
spellbinders poinsettia dies
Marianne D ivy dies
no name poinsettia embossing folder (magazine freebie?)
glitter
distress inks
memento inks

Firstly, I used the wood effect paper and brown card and cut to size to fit card blank (paper pad only 8x8 but design is clever so you can cut and add to make longer piece.

then embossed corners and distressed using scissors or distress tool

then inked using brushed corduroy distress ink

Next I added the ceramic effect, and whilst still wet added some glitter.

Next time I will use a different ink or paint since the distress ink being water based, mixed and tinted the ceramic effect a little, which resulted in a slightly aged look and not the white I really wanted but still nice..  the difference you can see where the ink wasn't applied further into the centre of the paper..

next step is to make flowers.. yay!!
die cut, ink and crumple leaves and petals...
for green bits i used green pages from pad and for red I used backing paper from stash.
inks for green - memento bamboo leaves + cottage ivy
inks for red - memento rhubarb stalk

notice the difference below between inked and uninked..

adhere your flowers layer by layer, shaping and then insert stamens through centre
Note - i inked white stamen threads with bamboo green memento ink.
die cut a couple of ivy sprays and ink the veins with memento cocoa brown while die cuts are still in the die
Dip a few berries in ceramic effect and then glitter pot - this stuff is a two way wonder, adhesive and white stiff in one tub!!
now the fun after the preparation...

apologies for photo below but it was getting late and I was too excited to stop!!

I was playing around with layout and chose a simple scroll / flag combination..

to assemble:
adhere the embossed inked glittered paper pad pieces to brown card,
wrap satin ribbon around
adhere the scrumpled (that's my new word BTW!) scroll / flag
adhere green raffia, then satin ribbon bow, then bakers twine
adhere the ivy leaves
adhere the flowers
 and finally the berries

some more photos for you..

added some more white to tips of leaves too..

the paper sheet with let it snow text was a good sentiment rather than a stamped one, and the whole pad mixes well so decided to use that..

finished card..

That's all for today, will be another couple of weeks before I'm back as i have another couple of weeks until stitches are out.

Sugar Nellie Funky Kits Wedding Card in Ivory and Burgundy

Hi everyone, hope this finds you well. Some terrible things happening in the world over the last few hours :(  All those people, relatives, loved ones, families - we are thinking about them and they are in our prayers.

Onto today's card share then, another wedding one (well you will be seeing a bit more Christmas but in the meantime I am getting up to date with some projects I meant to post)

Used the EK success flourish punch again on this one..

I had included more information about what was used in an earlier post where I shared this card in a different colour, but if you need any help with products etc just leave me a comment :)

I have been playing with new graphics software over the last few weeks, hence the scarce posts, and I will share what I have made soon, am sure you will like it - after a mixture of what were frustrating times and eureka / light bulb moments, I am now getting to grips with it and its LOADS of fun and great for anyone creative - more uses for all those digi papers and images !!

MR Designs inspired Nautical card

LOVED loved loved making this one, and it came together really well and to plan - once I had the idea it couldn't be done quick enough - much fun was had lol!!!

Yep, those are real shells and seed things...
the gorgeous papers can be purchased from M R Designs' Michele Roos HERE.

and the inside of the card.... - the centre of the paper was faded out using simple graphic software to highlight the verse before being printed, distressed and inked like the front cover.

Cerise Pink for the same couple - Lili of the Valley and Stamping Bella Uptown Girls images

Happy Friday everyone. Popping in to share a couple of pink cards - if you don't like pink, please look away now LOL!

I used a LOTV image for one and a Stamping Bella image for the other.

Lots of dots on this one, stencilling using the dies and hand made frilly flowers.

For the Second card I used a partial embossing technique. In a rush to photograph this one so hope you can see where the folder 'didn't' emboss over the image. I made my own template and adjusted the embossing sandwich in the machine.

Some more partial embossing inside the card.

Haven't used tinkling bells for a while so added some of those and a lacy spellbinders oval die.

This is the best photo for you to see the partial embossing around the image.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by and if you like, leave me a comment to let me know what you think of these two wedding cards.

LOTV simply stamped Birthday card

hi everyone, hope you're all well and taking advantage of the mild weather :)
Sharing a very simple card today with heat embossing, using a Lili of the Valley sentiment stamp.

The sentiment stamp I used is part of a set and can be found here. They are very versatile and for someone who is beginning stamping and / or embossing they are very forgiving because of their 'distressed' or patchy typeface - that's the effect I love about them!

I used spellbinders Posy Patch and Daisy patch flowers and the Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish leaf dies for the flowers and leaves

Some more photos of the shaped flowers.

thanks for visiting my blog today!
