Zodiac Samples for Crafters Companion - Gemini and Cancer - altered notebook and some foiling

Morning readers, hope you're all glad its the weekend.  Sharing two more Zodiac projects for Crafters companion using the Zodiac dies.

Ruling Planet is the moon, and element is water and since Cancerians like heartfelt gifts like memory books etc I altered a notebook

For this card I used the following supplies:
Gemini Elements Zodiac Die - Cancer
Moon made with a circle die, which i cut twice and using glitter card
'Waves' shape made with Sara Signature Graceful Swirls Metal Die
Burlap / Hessian from Stash
Various memento inks used to colour the crab
Papers from Crafters Companion Download inspiration
July 2015 - Sea Breeze

Next is a foiled card - first time using the cerise foil and this definitely a feminine card for a Gemini girly birthday!

for this card, I used the following supplies:
Gemini Elements Zodiac Die - Gemini
Gemini Foil Press, Happy Birthday Foil Stamp Die
Royal Damask Foil Stamp Die Plate (the positive and negative foiling is done here) Cerise Papercraft Foil
Glitter Card and Dotty Ribbon
Picked raspberry Distress Ink

It still amazes me how crisp and clean the foiling is with the Gemini FoilPress, and I hope I have taken enough photos to show you just HOW gorgeous it is..

Right that's it for today, I will be back with more before the end of January, and some luscious embossing folders are up next....

Zodiac Samples for Crafters Companion - Aries and Taurus

Evening everyone, sorry been a bit quiet, but I succumbed to on of those winter bugs! Seems everyone has them :( Anyway onto the first of two posts with the Gemini zodiac dies and a couple of projects with them.

For this card I used:
Gemini Elements Zodiac Die - Taurus
Crafters Companion Classic Wreath Die Set
Crafters Companion Warm Blanket Embossing Folder
Sentiment sourced from various astrology sites
Added glitter card and a pearl to highlight the zodiac symbol

These dies are good for layering too, I cut the bull more than once and some of it in white card which I inked slightly, so the shoulders and forelegs are prominent and then the horns as well..

Card used is Pearlescent Centura in Mink and White with a hint of silver.

For someone who lives with a Taurus partner, the sentiment really rings true!!

Next up is the fiery Aries star sign!

This one was made into a pyramid card, first time making one for me and they're super easy so why I don't make more, well who knows but I will do from now on...

the goodies used:
Gemini Elements Zodiac Die - Aries
Die'sire Decorative Frame 1
Papers from Enchanted Forest Paper Pad
Flourish Die from Sumptuous Swirls
Ribbon, liquid applique, brads from stash
Fired Brick and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink
Strictly Barbed Sheena Stencil
Sentiment from Say it with Words CC stamp set

One of the sides has a bar which holds a tag and the tag flips up for a place for a handwritten message

I specifically used red and the barbed mask as I thought that lends itself to the whole fiery theme..

OH and I dug out my liquid applique stuff which I applied and heated with a glue gun till it bubbled for the fleece effect on the ram's head - otherwise knows as fluffy stuff - remember YEARS ago when we all went mad over it for decorating sheep stamped cards?!

That's all for now, will be back with two more zodiac cards tomorrow, but I need to get the other 8 dies to experiment some more..

Meljens Racing Rabbit for a Man's Birthday

Hi everyone, popping in to say hello with a super quick post and card, while I am in the process of making a couple of framed pieces. This card is a fairly simple layout, which i think works best for men's cards as men don't appreciate frills and fancy cards most of the time LOL, plus if there's too much going on, it can look a bit OTT!!

This card is using a digi from Meljens Designs. Melissa is sadly not selling digi's through her own website but now as bundles through Etsy, if anyone wants to obtain any. The recipient of this card likes marathons so it was a good image to use ;)

Twine and MFT banner dies used for the bunting and yes the twine is threaded through the bunting. The papers are from Nitwit collections but I cant remember which set arghh.

NItwit Collections inspired Floral 60th Birthday card

Okay so today I have something different - not along the lines of Babies, Communions or Weddings for this post - but a Feminine birthday card, presented in a box.

I used Nitwit collections papers - two sheets from the same digi pack which is called Fine Linen which you can find HERE.

A martha Stewart doily punch for the centre border and some EK success daisy punches and leaf punches for the flowers

The 60 number shapes were cut using Quickutz dies.

Border inside the card to match the cover.

some more photos to show the layering and embossing - kraft coloured cardstock embosses really well and I love the Colorset Suede shade - its very like Kraft card and matches so well.

18th Birthday celebrations for twins Lili of the Valley stamp

I loved making this card, and it would never have occurred to me to use this image for a birthday card either but it WORKS - my customer saw another anniversary card with the image and chose it straight away - well you can't help but like all of the Lili of the Valley images!

So the occasion was an 18th Birthday for twins and the stamp I used for this card is Lili of the Valley's Together Forever which you can find HERE.

I used some digi papers from Bearly Mine Designs with a patchwork theme (sadly due to digi retail and tax implications Donna no longer sells her papers online:( )

Side view of the card - used alphabet dies and some greyboard + glitter board to make the 18 numbers

Inside the card - papers faded out in the centre for the placement of the sentiment - yes it took me ages to come up with the wording!!

A closeup view of the colouring and inking - I used Tim Holtz Weathered Wood shade of distress ink.

feast or famine!.... and handmade flowers

Where did the last month just go - horrified to find I hadn't blogged for so long - those who visit my blog must have thought I had left the planet!
Anyway I guess First Holy Communion and Confirmation season as well as Mothers Day makes this time of the year busy for those of us who love making cards, so I have a few to share over the next couple of weeks (also because I realise how many photos I had taken and not blogged).

Onto a 50th Birthday card - feminine, pink, pretty and hand made flowers - I have to make some others as I am getting addicted to these shabby ones and maybe I need a new idea huh??

So lots of photos of the flowers and the leaves and the light that day was good so the embossing looks really crisp on the white card.

This was a large square 7 and 3/4 inch card, boxed because the flowers are very dimensional and are adhered with silicone glue and the boxed card makes a perfect keepsake..

I love this new font - Great Vibes, thanks Claire my crafty friend,-it's down to you that I am now addicted to it as it's sooooo elegant!
