a Wedding card with a difference!

So it feels good when a challenge comes out well and this card was a challenge. As I was putting it together it changed several times and I kept thinking ' how is this going to work out'... ahem........

I didn't realise how popular Mad Hatter or Alice in Wonderland themed weddings were either until I did some reearch, there's loads of fantabulous quirky stuff on the internet, the pictures of grooms in hats and tea party tables and topsy turvy cakes have the wow factor that's for sure! I ended up looking at things for far too long.

I have added lots of photos on this blog post so you can see all the little touches. The first 3D film I saw at the cinema happened to be the Tim Burton production and the growing mushrooms and plants were a great effect, hence the flourishes on the card and the suggestion on the box!

That ribbon has been in my stash for the last 10 years, knowing I would need it for some special project and so it goes well with the deep reds and greens and black printing from the wedding invitation...

I have been using Etsy a while now as there are some fantastic digital products from various digi artists and you can purchase vintage artwork there too, so the rabbit and harlequin papers came from etsy.

A side view of the card - I used the 'time' and pocket-watch theme a lot for this special date and the embossing is mini hearts and zigzag lines, teamed up with harlequin papers so carry the theme through - I love all the patterns associated with this fairytale!

The lady who commissioned this card came up with three verses, two verses (for each spouse) and the centre sentiment - great idea!

While the centre panel was mounted on red and green like the front of the card, both of the two side panels of the inside of this trifold card were mounted on black.
The colours used for the Bride's wedding were bright and the bridesmaids were dressed in black, so it all came together.

The front of the card closed:

A side view to show the layering and the tab for opening it as it did fit the box without much room to spare and weighed a good bit LOL:

Now, can you spot the hidden creature?  Leave me a comment if you can and you think you know what it is.
For those crafters who do, I will draw a winner at random who can guess and describe where and what it is (in your comment) and send you a little something!

That's all for now, will be popping back with a tutorial in the next few days.
